Jonathon Ryan is a Member of Applied Linguistics Association of New Zealand (ALANZ), a Principal Academic Staff Member of Centre for Languages at Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec). He is a member of both Human Research Ethics Committee of Wintec and a committee member of Waikato TESOL. Dr. Ryan is a Wintec research leader and a reviewer of Journal of Pragmatics. Monica Chiu is a Professor of English at the University of New Hampshire, specializing in Asian American Studies, with a current focus on Asian/American Graphic Narratives and Manga. She was a former Fulbright Scholar at the University of Hong Kong. Prof. Chiu has won campus-wide and regional awards for her commitment to diversity, such as President's Excellence through Diversity Faculty Award (2008) and the Social Justice Award for Faculty Groups, recognizing her Ford Foundation-supported work on diversity and pedagogy (2007). The Organization New Hampshire Women in Higher Education Leadership presented her with an Emerging Professional Award (2008).
